This was a picture perfect day. My first snowshoe of the season. Thanks to the New Adventure group, we did not have to break trail.

Brian helped me tighten the straps on my snowshoes, after crossing Hwy. 3. My fingers had gone numb. But it wasn't even half an hour later and we were stopped to peel off a layer of clothing.

We regrouped at the first viewpoint where the tips of the Hozameens could be seen.

Once in the forest I had to put my water-proof shell on again. The trees were snow-bombing. The grade became steeper until be broke out into the open about 45-minutes later.

The Hozameens -- southwest.

Group shot minus Christine F & Susan V who decided to stay at the summit.

Silverdaisy Mt (2010m) -- northwest

We shared the scenic lunch spot with the other group whom most of us were familiar with, having had them come along on some of our trips and hikes. The Nordheim humps (1950m) at the end of the ridge -- north.

The Fourth, Three and First Bros. -- east.

Both Brigette & Jan brought the same size bottle of Fireball along with shooter cups. What a treat! It was a great way to warm up our innards.

Heading back.

Back at the first viewpoint, most of the group took the shortcut down. But I knew this last section was really steep so opted for staying on the trail because of my back. It was fun watching them bum-slide while their audience kept coaxing them on.
How to make a snowball the easy way.
