Julian Alps - Part 1

Sept. 1 - 9, 2026 -- Slovenia Triglav National Park is Slovenia's only national park. It contains almost all of the Julian Alps. It's located in the northwest corner of Slovenia and takes up 3% of the country's surface. The small country (population over 2,100,000) has only 47km of coast along the Adriatic Sea. When we had our briefing the day before we were to begin our 6-day hut-to-hut trek, we were rather taken aback when the man pulled via ferrata equipment from his bag.
