Christmas, Glow, Winter

Nov. 8 - Roger's happy 5th birthday.

Roger's Upper Sumas School Christmas concert. They're singing the "Boogie Woogie Reindeer" song.

An after-the-concert treat.

Dec. 11: Natalie's baptism.

These next three photos were taken by Don MacDonald.

1) Nathan in Case's new fancy ice-fishing tent. 2) They said the parcel was delivered (the day before).

Corwin making quick work of clearing our driveway.

Dec. 22-23: I've never seen the likes of it. Everything covered in a thick sheet of ice! I didn't see a single car on the road (with the exception of Case in the FJ, of course).

We had to put our micro-spikes on just to walk to the road. Even then, I had to kick them in and cling to Chelsey who held the umbrella over my Nikon D810. After all, I didn't want to break another finger.

The pastures turned overnight into skating rinks. Our children were skating on the road.

The many faces of Natalie (2.5 months old).

The ice storm didn't stop our family from getting together on Christmas Eve for turkey dinner and gift opening. Mind you, it did help that they live just a hop & a skip from our house with the exception of Jeanette and family who drove from Airdrie AB Dec. 22. They said the roads were way worse here than there.

Everyone made something for the feast.

The "triplets", in order of age, each one separated by 5 months.

Chelsey, Renee & I were part of the kitchen commitee. Her biceps are compliments of Timmermans Landscaping.

Carrying on the usual tradition of singing hymns after dinner and before gift opening.

After a few songs I was thinking to maybe change that tradition to singing after gift opening. The kids had been admiring and anticipating those colorful presents under the tree for almost a month. They were climbing the walls from excitement and repeatedly bombarding me with that question: "Oma, WHEN are we going to open the presents???"

I'd ordered two different dolls on line, one for Zoe & one for Julianne. When the packaging came off, I immdiately thought, "That's not the doll I ordered!" but everyone else was amazed at how much the doll looked like Natalie!

Three dolls under the Christmas tree.

Dec. 27: Glow in Langley.

Chelsey & Jordan couldn't make it so I asked my niece, Nicole to come with her daughter, Kinsley.

Kinsley & Amy are good friends. So are their mothers.

There was lots to do for kids there. Beside this building there was still a whole play area in the next.

Nine sippy glowing cups coming up...

Penelope taking a table walk.

Cinderella was looking a bit overwhelmed. I asked her, "Is it OK if I take a family picture here?" When humans kept piling into her bubble, and she got rambunctious Julianne plopped on her lap, I'm sure she was having second thoughts.
