We did this hike as a crossover, starting at the Watt Creek trailhead and heading east to the Edmeston Rd. trailhead. What better way to enjoy the rain forest than in the rain? We certainly did not let it dampen our spirits.

The first 1.5 km of the Watt Creek trail were new to me. Usually we do this hike as an out and back from Edmeston Rd. At the intersection we decided to turn right, towards Camp Stillwood. We knew that crossing Watt Creek would probably not happen since the water was too high.

We soon came to a flimsy pink robbon barrier. This made us all the more curious to see what was up ahead.

We didn't get far and ran into this very steep gravel slope. As we stood there, little pebbles were tumbling down. It was a no-brainer. Continuing would be too dangerous.

So we sent back and at the intersection stayed straight to hike Teapot Hill. We ruled out ascending the back south-facing side because it's very steep towards the lookout and therefore too slippery.

Any one for a cup of tea? I took this group shot minus me on top of Teapot Hill: David G, Dennine H, Jan S, Jim F + Brian H

Back down at the intersection, Jan & Jim decided to head back to their cars. But us 4 die-hards carried on on the Watt Creek trail.

We had a brief lunch stop but didn't want to stop moving too long or we'd get cold. The good thing about the two 300m hills we had to climb up, was that it kept us warm.

Brian is still smiling.

Sure enough, just as we approached David's car at 1:15pm, the rain stopped.

Pic 2: Brian found a cat footprint.
