Stats: 11.5 km / 580m gain / 2051m high point / 3:15 hours MT

We took the Peak to Peak gondola from Whistler to Blackcomb Mt. It has the world's longest unsupported span for a lift of this kind (3 km).

The view south from the gondola.

We started out from the Rendezvous Lodge on the Alpine trail -- view north. Soon the Alpine trail turned into the Overlord trail.

Whistler Mt. with the Black Tusk to the left -- west.

Blackcomb Mt. -- east.

Cotton Grass.

Blackcomb Peak.

The Black Tusk - I've summited it 3 times.

The Musical Bumps left of Whistler Peak.

The Trorey Glacier.

Most of the alpine flowers were finished but a few at the higher levels were still blooming.

Looking back at the ridge we'd just climbed. This is the steepest part of the Decker Loop.

Blackcomb Peak from the highest point on the trail.

Fitzsimmons Range + the Musical bumps in the foreground.

Decker Tarn below us. The was the farthest point on the trail.

A second smaller Lake Loop takes you past Blackcomb Lake.

These young marmots seemed to be posing for me.
