Jan. 14 2022 - Stats: 5.3 km / 420m gain / 482m high point

Back on the Dragon's Back trail. This time the snow made us park lower, just past the short gravel road leading up to the trailhead. This added only about 15 minutes of snowshoeing. Because of the ice and wet snow, we had to take our time on the steep slopes and stairs. I have another more detailed blog of this trail from March 24, 2021.

The sign at the trailhead says 330m gain but the cumlative gain is 400m.

Snowshoes or micro-spikes? Both.

Not far past the Stone Garden, most of the group switched from snowshoes to micro-spikes. I didn't want to post-hole so I stuck with the snowshoes. But it was awkward climbing up & down on the stairs with them.

Melted icicles refrozen.

We did the loop counter-clockwise which is shorter but steeper.

A viewpoint, a hop & a skip away from the Hope Mt. viewpoint. The almost hidden peak to the left is Wells Mt (1800m) and beside it is Grant Mt (2100m).

Hope Mt.(1590m) -- east

The town of Hope and the mighty Fraser River -- north.

The northwest viewpoint.

Play time: a brave few tried the swing; Denise & Tracey & Sheri. Girl power!
