Stats: 11.7 km / 1010m gain / 1356m high point / 5:05 hours MT
We were all feeling some sore body parts at the end of this hike. It is steep. It was a good workout for the upcoming more challenging hikes.
We parked on the Silver Skagit Road, by the signs for Eaton Lake. You can drive a few minutes farther up, but the FSR is a bit overgrown.

Not too far in and we had to do the first of three creek crossings. This one had the largest log and a wood railing.

Denise is straddling the log, trying to scramble over it as Harley pulls on her leash.

Up, up, up.

The face is still on the cedar just across from the rickety bridge.

The first patch of snow with Eaton Peak in the distance. And then a second creek crossing. This one required concentration and balance, as the log got quite narrow on the other end.

Phew. A stretch of flat land.
But then it was back to climbing. Charlotte's beat red face says it all.

And then the third final creek crossing. I took my boots off for this one.

The orange rope is tied tight, providing a good support while crossing.

Yay! We made it! There was a nice warm rock to have lunch on as we watched fish jumping in the lake.

We were in no hurry to go back.

To the right is Eaton Peak (2117m). We met a young couple while descending, who had just summited Mt. Grant (2130m) to the left of the lake.

The mouth of Eaton Creek.

Oops. Charlotte took a dip.

Annet smoothly and quickly side-stepped across, making it look so easy.

Brigitte & I took this short side trail that got us right up to the falls.

The traditional dessert of sponge cake, fresh strawberries and coconut whipcream was served to celebrate the three birthdays in May of Charlotte, Irene & I. Brigitte took this photo.

Our tender tootsies were glad to get the boots off.
