Dec. 1 - Stats: 6.7 km / 525m gain / 1351m high / 2:25 hrs MT

This was our first snowshoe of the season. It was a good starter hike, being mostly steep but short. Going downhill was fun, having many well-worn chutes to glissade down. The snow-caked Dr. Seuss forest and side-ways icycles up top was a delight to photograph.

The path is on the outskirts of the park so no need to pay the $16.00 snowshoe ticket.

Shorty after a more level stretch, the path leaves the ski slopes and angles west. This is Crown Mt, immediately north of Grouse Mt.

Mt. Baker above the city of Vancouver -- southeast.

Ahhh. The last few times I was up here we had no view of the Lions. This day the clouds had cleared the Lions just 15 minutes prior to our arrival.

Ultra thin plates of transparent ice. They reminded me of drapes.

Horizontal hoar-frost totally encasing these two tall trees. I'd never seen this before!

Heading back down with a bit of sliding here and a bit of sliding there.
