Nov. 21 - Stats: 10.4 km / 660m gain / 3 hours MT / 530m high point

This is a nice not-too-difficult moderate hike. Just west of Mission, on the Dewdney Trunk Road 2 km east of Stave Dam, we parked by a yellow gate across from the Mission Land Fill.

There were long stretches of an old cedar plank corduroy road along the trail to Hoover Lake in a 40 - 50 year old forest. The first 3 km were walked on a logging road before turning left onto the lake trail.

Just before the lake the logs in the corduroy road angled the opposite way.

I hiked about 15 minutes down this trail along the lake.

The trail ended at this campsite.

Back on the FSR to the viewpoint...

At the end of the gravel road there was a firepit and this viewpoint to the north.

From the viewpoint we carried on on this forest trail.

About 20 minutes from the viewpoint we angled down a bit to these rocky bluffs which was our turn back point. Ropes helped on some of those sketchy high steps.

It wasn't quite as easy for Wendy to clear this log with her shorter legs.

Back at the viewpoint but this time the clouds had cleared more.
