Slovenia - Part 2

Sept. 7-8, 2026
From Tolim we took the train (which was 30-minutes late because they were waiting for a group of people to arrive) to Bohinj Lake, the largest lake in Slovenia. Alison took the train straight through to Bled which was on the itinerary. The via feratta gear had to be dropped off at a certain time so she brought ours in too. The idea was that she'd grab my bag of sight-seeing clothes that I'd left at the very first hotel we stayed at back in Kranjska Gora. They assured me it'd be in Bled waiting for us. But it wasn't there. She had to find a different location. Luckily she ran into the man from our briefing as he was leaving. Alison had not been able to get a hold of him via testing. He gave her the location which was about half an hour from where she was dropping off the gear. That was not very well organized on their part. Thanks so much Alison!

We took the lazy 1-hour boat ride to the other end of the lake and back. Lazy was what my swollen knee needed after hiking the Julian Alps.
